About Diplomacy and International Studies

The Diplomacy and International Studies programs use the wide-ranging resources at the University of Utah to prepare students to live and work in the increasingly globalized world of the 21st century. Inaugurated in 2003, these majors have rapidly become some of the most popular undergraduate programs at the University of Utah. Their unique courses, networking and professional development opportunities, interdisciplinary methods, language study, and opportunities for international study and travel make them versatile and highly flexible majors—either alone or in combination with other programs of study. Students are encouraged to pursue a minor or a second major especially in a foreign language. Linguistic and cultural competence are essential to the Diplomacy and International Studies majors.
